F500 Series

Two constructions on one series. EPU gives a harder, glass-like surface that sheds fine scratches; TPU stays the economical choice for curved everyday coverage. Both arrive blank and flat, so the cutter produces the outline from a template.

Same series, different surface behaviour

The two groups take the same sheet stock and the same cutter setup. What changes is the top layer, and that is what a customer notices after a month of use.

F500 TPU

The soft, economical group. It follows a curved edge and covers a device range from one box of flat sheets. Fine scratches do not disappear and the surface can feel tacky in humid conditions.

EPU construction

F500 EPU

A composite sheet with a harder, glass-like feel. Fine surface marks fade back, the coating resists fingerprints, and the film resists yellowing over a longer service life. It is the upgrade group in the series.

Choosing between them

What actually changes at the counter

Both groups are cut from a blank sheet against a device template, so stocking either one does not change the machine, the template library or the way an order is quoted. The decision is about the surface the customer lives with.

  • EPU feels closer to glass; TPU feels softer under a fingertip
  • Fine scratches on EPU fade back; on TPU they stay visible
  • EPU resists fingerprints and yellowing for longer
  • TPU costs less per sheet and still covers a curved edge
  • Both run as flat sheets with no per-cut charge on the film

TPU code families

Six families share the same TPU sheet. The suffix names the finish or the construction, not a different thickness or a different machine setup.

F500BAnti-blue light
F500MMatte, anti-glare

Sheet format, cutting parameters and pack quantity for this group are the same as the rest of the range; see the film range for the common sheet and ordering terms.

F500 EPU

EPU model codes

Eight codes combine the EPU composite with a finish or a plated variant. They are listed here as a table because they share one construction rather than eight separate products.

What the letters mean on F500

The finish letters are shared across the whole film range. The extra letters in F500 SKU names separate the reinforced, antibacterial and plated variants.

Finish and construction letters used in F500 model codes

AFElectroplated finish
ASPressure-resistant construction

The same letters appear on F300. See the full code table on the film range page.

Blank sheets, quoted by the sheet

F500 is not pre-cut to device models and there is no roll width to quote. The cutter takes one flat sheet at a time and cuts the outline from a template, so a single box of stock covers a whole device range.

  • Flat sheet stock, 100 sheet minimum across the order
  • Factory parameters are pre-tuned, but the film is not locked to a Purcell machine
  • Third-party sheet stock runs after one parameter setup
  • Sheet sizes and finishes are confirmed on the quotation rather than assumed

Check cutter widths before ordering wider sheets, or read how the commercial side works.

Before you order

Questions that come up on F500

Is EPU a glass protector?

No. It is a composite soft film with a harder, glass-like surface. It still feeds into the cutter as a flat sheet and bends around a curved edge, which a rigid glass protector cannot do.

Do EPU and TPU need different cutting parameters?

The construction is different, so set the material parameters once for each group and save them. Both use the same flat-sheet feed and the same template library, and neither requires a different machine.

Can I mix TPU and EPU codes in one order?

Yes. Tell us the codes and the sheet sizes you want and we will quote them together. The 100 sheet minimum is counted across the order, not per code.

What does AF mean in a model code?

AF marks an electroplated finish, not an anti-fingerprint coating. F500R-AS (AF) and F500R-Plus (AF) are the plated variants of their base films.

Is every F500 code stocked in every sheet size?

No. Sheet availability differs by code and is confirmed on the quotation. We do not publish one sheet size as universal across the series.
