Terms of Service
A short set of rules for buying a cutter or a box of film from this site. Most of it is about the two things that cause arguments: what a page can promise, and what happens to film once it has been cut.
Updated 27 October 2026
01What these pages are
A catalogue, not a specification. Dimensions, finish, availability and price can change, and a photograph shows a production unit rather than the exact one you will receive: a film's tint varies slightly between coating runs, and a machine's panel can differ between builds.
The quotation and the specification sheet issued with your order are the binding description. Where a page here and a specification sheet disagree, the sheet wins.
02Film, sheets and the template library
Film ships as 120 × 180 mm sheets, pre-tuned to the cutter it is ordered with. Minimum order is 100 sheets. Third-party film runs on the same machines, but the cutting parameters are then yours to set — we can only warrant how our own stock behaves.
The template library subscription is included in year one and renews from year two at the rate your sales contact quotes. Templates you have already downloaded stay on the machine permanently: stop paying and you lose new-model updates, not the ability to cut.
03Orders and quotations
An order binds both sides when we confirm it in writing. A quotation is good for the period printed on it. Lead times are estimates until the order confirmation marks them as fixed. Deposit, balance and shipping terms are set out on that confirmation and on the invoice, which together form the contract.
04Delivery, duty and risk
We ship worldwide. Risk passes to you at the point named on the order confirmation. Import duty, VAT and customs clearance are yours to pay; we supply the paperwork and the commodity code so your broker can clear the shipment without writing back to us.
05Checking a delivery
Open the carton before you cut into the film. If a pack is the wrong finish, the wrong size, or damaged in transit, tell us while it is still uncut and send a photograph of the label and the box — film that has been cut or applied cannot be taken back, because there is no way to tell it from stock.
For a machine, report transit damage while the crate is still intact. Photographs of the crate are what the carrier asks for, and they are almost impossible to take afterwards.
06Warranty
Machines carry a one-year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Blades, cutting strips, squeegees and anti-slip pads are wear parts and are not covered. Film is a consumable.
Claims go through the dealer you bought from, or straight to us, quoting the order number and — where it helps — a photograph or a short video of the fault.
07What a cutter cannot promise
The machine cuts the shape you load, to the accuracy in its specification. It cannot promise that a template exists for every device on the market, that a given film suits a particular screen coating, or that a cut piece will fit a device nobody here has measured.
Run the template on scrap before you commit a batch. That ten-minute check is the cheapest part of the job and the only one that catches a bad fit before it costs film.
08Shapes, brands and template rights
You are responsible for having the right to cut what you cut — device outlines, brand marks and licensed artwork included. The template library is licensed for cutting film on your own machines for your own customers; redistributing the files, or reselling the library as a product, falls outside that licence.
09Our text and images
The text, photographs and layout of this site are ours. Link to a page, quote a paragraph with the source named, and we are pleased. Republish a page as your own product listing and we are not. Purcell and the Purcell mark are our trademarks.
10Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost production, lost profit, or material ruined in a machine that was set up outside its specification. Our total liability on any claim is limited to the price of the goods that caused it.
Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under mandatory consumer law in your own country.
11Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, and disputes go to the courts of Shenzhen, Guangdong. Before that, write to us — the disagreements that reach a court are almost always ones nobody tried to settle first.
